January 12, 1930 - June 26, 2021
Lonnie Myrick passed away peacefully Sunday morning (June 27th) in Katy, TX at 91 years of age.
Lonnie Edward Myrick Jr. was born on January 12, 1930 in Whitewright, TX. He met Wynona Lee Shepherd on a blind date while she attended Baylor University.
He was a 1st Lieutenant in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Lonnie graduated from Texas A&M University in 1957 with a degree in Industrial Engineering and was a member of the Corps of Cadets. He worked for Mobil Oil in Beaumont, TX for 34 years.
Lonnie and Wynona had 5 children together, Alan, Keith, Kimberly, George, and Walter.
He is survived by children Alan, Keith, Kimberly, and Walter. As well as his 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his son George. They are in the great beyond and are fishing the best spots on the lake together on a bass boat with an infinite fuel supply and a bottomless beer cooler.
We love and miss you, Papa. You were, and always will be, an inspiration to us all. With love and dedication, you can accomplish anything. You showed us that. Thank you for your wisdom, compassion, selflessness, and laughter.
