Darren Paul Busker
February 25, 1965 - November 8, 2021

Darren Paul Busker, age 56 of Houston, Texas passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 8, 2021 in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Darren was born in Houston, Texas on February 25, 1965. He was the son of Kathryn Wright and Daniel Busker. Darren grew up in Houston and graduated from Alief Hastings High School in 1983. After high school, Darren attended the University of St. Thomas on a Golf Scholarship and then Texas A&M University until receiving the opportunity to start his golf career.

Growing up, Darren enjoyed playing tennis and golf. His passion for golf was sparked by a set of golf clubs that were gifted to him by his uncle. Darren began his professional golf career at Falcon Point Country Club in Katy, Texas. It was there that he met the love of his life, Lisa Powers, in the fall of 1988 when she was hired by Falcon Point as a weekend receptionist. After dating for five years they married in 1994.

This past October, Darren and Lisa celebrated 27 wonderful years of marriage. Over the course of his career, Darren held various positions and wore many hats at Quail Valley Country Club, Hearthstone Country Club and Sienna Plantation Golf Club. At the time of his death, Darren was the General Manager at Tour 18 in Humble, Texas. Darren loved his profession and took great pride in his work; he especially loved the many co-workers, members, and guests that he met and befriended throughout his entire career.

Darren had many nicknames, some of which were "DB", "D", "Big D" and "D-Dawg". No matter which name you knew him by, Darren always showed his true self. He was an amazing and completely selfless individual, had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. He maintained a highly driven and committed spirit and was loyal to the end.

He is preceded in death by his stepfather Roger Wright, brother Jeff Wright and brother-in-law Paul Jose.

Darren is survived by his wife Lisa, mother Kathryn Wright, father Daniel Busker and his wife Carolyn, brother Tom Busker and wife Becky, brother Philip Busker and wife Melissa, brother Lane Wright and wife Cathy, brother Mike Wright and sister-in-law Stephanie Wright as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom he loved dearly.

We will celebrate Darren's life starting with a Memorial Mass at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church (off Texas Hwy 249 @ Perry Road) with a reception immediately following.

For those who wish to attend, there will be a brief graveside service at 4:00 p.m. at Forest Park Lawndale.
