Doran was preceded in death by his parents, William and Evelyn, and his first wife of 44 years, Marilyn Yvonne Trahan Jones, stepdaughter, Patti Spillane Rogers, step son-in-law Tom Wilkinson.

Doran was the best Daddy ever and always kept his girls giggling! He was an outdoorsman and could fix anything. He raced cars in his younger days, raised animals most of his life, and loved hunting and fishing. He always had a boat and the latest and greatest vehicle for pulling that boat! He took the family on camping vacations as often as he could, even as far as Yellowstone National Park. After raising his 3 daughters, he purchased a Gold Wing Honda and loved to ride again, something he deeply enjoyed before family responsibilities kept him off cycles.

After serving in the US Army, he attended Texas A&M College - Class of ‘55. From then on, the Aggies and everything Texas A&M were near and dear to his heart. He was a season ticket holder, a generous donor and a member of many Aggie organizations – Travelling Aggies, 12th Man Foundation, Corps of Cadets, Association of Former Students.

Doran was an active volunteer in many community organizations, including, the Lions Club, youth baseball, the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, and Toys for Tots with the Gold Wing motorcycle club.

As he stated in his last days, he lived a great life and was ready to spend eternity with God, his Father. He will be missed deeply by all his family, extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, we are setting up a Texas A&M Aggie Ring Scholarship in his name or you may donate to his latest church, St. James Episcopal Church.
