January 8, 1942 - October 17, 2021

Born January 8, 1942 in Waxahachie, Ellis County, TX, Robert Wallace Wimbish passed away October 17, 2021 in Dallas, TX. A Life Tribute Memorial Service with Military Honors will be 11 am, Thursday, October 21, 2021 at First United Methodist Church-Bryan, honoring Bob Wimbish. A reception and visitation will follow in the Heritage Room at the church.

Bob graduated from Milford High School and went on to receive his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Texas A&M University. He then was very proud to serve in the U. S. Navy on an aircraft carrier during the Vietnam War. While stationed in California, Bob met the love of his life, Joann Fiumaro, a young schoolteacher from Connecticut.

Joann and Bob married in 1971 and moved to Bryan, TX where Bob received his Masters of Urban Planning degree from Texas A&M. He and a friend then opened Southwest Planning, an urban planning group. Bob and Joann were thrilled when Pattye Clairissa was born. He was involved in everything Pattye did all the way through Bryan High and Texas A&M.

Bob purchased Bryan Paint and Glass and was able to share his talents of design with the community. He was charter member of the Bryan/College Station Optimist Club, charter member of the College Station Rotary Club, member of Brazos Union Lodge #129, Brazos Valley Shrine Club, First United Methodist Church, Bryan, holding many administrative positions and charter member of the Wesley Sunday School Class. Bob was very active with the March of Dimes, Brazos de Dios and Worldwide Mobility (personal energy transportation.)

Bob is survived by his daughter, Pattye Wimbish Knight '95 of Dallas, two grandchildren, Duke Knight and Olivia Knight of Dallas, his sister, Peggy Loftis of Waxahachie and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joann Fiumaro Wimbish in February 2021 and his parents Pattye and C. W. Wimbish of Milford, TX.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Bryan and PET Project, Bryan. Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers, Bryan-College Station.
