Preston Wayne Anz
October 23, 1986 - July 26, 2021

Preston Anz, age 34, of Houston, formerly of West, passed away late Monday evening, July 26, 2021 in West.

A Celebration of his Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 2, 2021 at the First Baptist Church in West, with Dr. John Crowder officiating. The family will receive visitors Monday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church. LIVE STREAM of the service will be provided.

Preston was born October 23, 1986 in Waco, the son of Roger and Yvonne (Baker) Anz. He attended schools in West and was a 2005 graduate of West High School. He served as Class President each of his four years there, and played sports along with being a member of many clubs and organizations. He then received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Wildlife & Fisheries Science from Texas A & M University in 2009. Preston was a member and leader for the FarmHouse Fraternity at Texas A&M where he made many friends. Over the years, Preston worked in many capacities such as Project and Operations Manager in construction, an EMT for Careflite, and most recently in medical product sales. Preston enjoyed hunting, fishing, listening to reggae music, and anything outdoors. He was known as a people-person who would light up a room with his smile. He had a kind and gentle soul, and a very giving heart.

Preston truly loved his family and friends and would support them unconditionally. He was a man of strong faith and was baptized in January 2005 at First Christian Church in Fort Worth along with his sister and best friend, Ashley. On April 8, 2017 Preston was united in marriage to Leah Spitzenberger in Houston. Leah has described Preston as one of the most kind-hearted people she's ever met, who had a calming, adoring energy that others gravitated towards. She was always amazed at his undying patience and loving heart, and she will never forget that about him. From their union, a most precious baby girl, Lily Catherine, was born on July 25, 2019. One can look at Lily and see Preston, with blonde hair and blue eyes. Their daughter "Lily Bug" will continue Preston's legacy of loving and caring for others.

Preston is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Laginia Baker and paternal grandparents, Harold and Margie Anz.

Survivors include his wife and daughter, Leah Anz and Lily Anz of Houston; parents, Roger and Yvonne Anz of West; a sister, Ashley Anz of Fort Worth; grandfather, Gerald Baker; aunts, Teresa Campbell and husband John, and Marsha Carpenter and husband Floyd; uncle, Ray Baker and wife Johna; cousins, Taylor Campbell and girlfriend Sarah McFarland, Tanner Campbell and wife Mikayla, Gavin Baker, and Jackson Baker; parents-in-law, Steve and Denise Spitzenberger; brother and sister-in-law, Greg and Laura Spitzenberger; nephew, Carter Spitzenberger; niece, Parker Spitzenberger; and many other relatives and friends.
