Lawrence (Larry) David Brady
August 28, 1927 - April 9, 2021
Lawrence (Larry) David Brady passed away on April 9, 2021 in Kingwood, Texas at the age of 93. He was born in San Angelo, Texas on August 28, 1927.
Larry is survived by his wife of 66 years, Janis Lillian Boduskie Brady, his sons William Lawrence '79, his wife Meredith, and David Michael. Larry and Jan have three grandchildren, Karen McCollum and her husband Jeff; Mark Brady and his wife Laura; and Douglas
Brady and his wife Stephanie. Larry has six great grandchildren: Brooks and Marshall McCollum; Grayson and Benjamin Brady; and Claire and Emily Brady.
His parents Dolly and Lawrence Oliver Brady preceded Larry in death.
Larry graduated from Texas A&M with honors with a 5 year degree in Architectural Construction in 1951. He served three years in the air force and went to work for Farnsworth and Chambers Construction in Houston and then Texaco Inc. where he worked for 36 years
ending his career as an assistant to the Vice President of Sales in Houston.
Jan and Larry married on August 20, 1955 in Hearne, Texas. Larry working for Texaco and Jan as a teacher lived in many locations including Port Arthur, twice in Midland, New Orleans and twice in Houston.
Larry was an active member of Kingwood United Methodist Church and the Wesley Sunday School Class serving as president twice. He worked with the Boy Scouts of America while living in Midland; both of their sons Bill and David became Eagle Scouts. Larry played
golf his entire life. He was an early member of the Senior Golfing Group here at Kingwood Country Club, the OFWW's.
Larry loved his family and friends and cherished his time with them.
