James Marion White
February 10, 1955 ~ April 29, 2021 (age 66)

James Marion White was born February 10, 1955 in Hot Springs, Arkansas and passed away on Thursday, the 29th of April, 2021 at the Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, Alabama. He was a beloved husband, caring brother, devoted friend, goodhearted uncle and adoring grandfather.

James is survived by his wife, Meta White of Spanish Fort, Alabama, stepson, Erik Walters of West Lake, Louisiana, stepdaughter, Christy (Matt) Ogea, grandchildren, Mattie Marie Ogea, Amanda Hayes and Jorden Jeanise, Zoey and Zeda Walters, brother, Jerry (Chris) White of Moss Hill, Texas, sister, Jacque Reynolds of Houston, Texas, nieces, Danielle (Derek), Jessica (Dustin) and Johnna (Chance), and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy Marion White and Jewell Dean (Martin) White of Houston, Texas.

Following his graduation from C.E. King High School in 1973, he received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Technology from Texas A&M in 1977. James began his career as a mechanical engineer in the papermill industry in Sheldon Texas. On January 3, 2003, he married his best friend, Meta Ann Walters in Crosby, Texas. Following his marriage, his job was relocated to Monroeville, Alabama where he resided for seven years. He was an active member of Monroeville First Baptist Church where he served God faithfully. In 2011, He moved to Mc Donough, Georgia where he continued to work until his retirement in 2016. In 2017, he moved to Houston to assist in taking care of his father. His love for Alabama drew him to move to Spanish Fort, Alabama in 2019 where he became an active member of the Faith Family Fellowship Baptist Church in Spanish Fort, Alabama.

He enjoyed spending his retirement fishing, watching sports and traveling. He was very proficient in his computer knowledge. He thoroughly enjoyed mentoring and spending time with his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 10, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Sterling-White Funeral Home, 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Road, Highlands,Texas 77562. Reverend Micah Gandy of First Baptist Church in Monroeville, Alabama will be officiating. Visitation will be held at the Sterling-White Funeral Home Monday, May 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to remember James in a special way may make a donation online to the Alabama Heart Association at https://www.heart.org/en/affiliates/alabama.
