June 13, 1936 - February 08, 2021

Robert B. Shearer "Bob", 84, husband of the late Patricia Hogan Mundy Shearer of Missouri City, TX, passed away February 8, 2021 in Houston. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and his sense of style.

Born June 13, 1936 in Abilene, he was the son of the late Dr. Thomas P. Shearer "Tobe," of Houston and Evelyn Tompkins of Dallas. His late stepmother Marie Shearer Harris of Houston was also important in his upbringing.

Mr. Shearer attended Highland Park High School in Dallas and Texas A&M University where he was captain of the freshman drill team. He then served in the U. S. Army at Fort Collins, CO. In 1961 he graduated University of Houston where he was president of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.

He worked for Connecticut General as a life insurance agent in San Antonio where he married Jan Chapman. The Shearers moved to Houston where their two daughters were born. He later worked for Cigna and other financial planning companies. He was a 41-year member of Million Dollar Round Table.

He was a trainer at Dale Carnegie of Houston, and he volunteered for years with Junior Achievement, the MDRT Foundation, and the Literacy Center of Fort Bend County.

He is survived by daughters Marguerite Fleener (Bryan) of Houston, and Laura Shearer of Austin; two grandchildren Luke Fleener and Rebecca Fleener of Houston; his sister Sara Meyer of Cuero; his niece, nephew, their families, and other loved ones.
