Taylor Wong
August 03, 1934 - April 30, 2021

Born in San Antonio, TX, he was the 6th of 8 children born to parents who had emigrated from China. He first entered A&M in 1952 as an Animal Husbandry major, but left to enlist in the Army from 55-58, serving at Ft Sill, OK and Darmstadt, Germany.

Taylor re-enrolled at A&M in 58 after marrying Mary Ann Ong of Houston' He changed majors to Marketing and they lived in the "chicken coops". While he attended class, Mary Ann worked as a secretary in the Trigon.

After graduating they moved to Houston and Taylor worked primarily for Foley's Department Store, Pearl Leisure Products, and ARAMCO Oil Co. After working for ARAMCO for 5 years in Houston, he and Mary Ann moved to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, where he worked for ARAMCO for 10 more years before retiring.

Taylor enjoyed country music, gardening, and bowling (he once bowled a 297 in league tournament play). Mary Ann sadly passed in April of 97.

Taylor is survived by his daughter Dana Wong; son Derek Wong '87; granddaughter Morgan Ip; granddaughter Sarah Wu and her husband David Wu '15. His sister Sarah Sue Fun and brother David Wong are also still with us.

Other Aggie family members are brother-in-law Albert Ong '60, nephew William "Freddie" Eng '72, nephew Robert Ong, Jr '87 (Silver Taps Dec 98), niece Dr Stacy Ong "89 and nephew Gary Ong '89.
