Patrick Anthony Alessandra
February 26, 1932 - April 28, 2021

Dr. Patrick Anthony Alessandra, DDS, passed into Christ's eternal kingdom the morning of April 28, 2021.

Pat was born on February 26, 1932 in Houston, Texas to Anthony Alessandra and Antoinette Griffin. His father's parents, Gaetano and Marianna Alessandra, immigrated to the USA from Alia, Sicily in 1898. His mother's parents, John and Emma Griffin, immigrated to the USA at the end of the 19th century from County Galway, Ireland.

Pat graduated from St. Thomas High School, Texas A&M University, and received his DDS from The University of Texas School of Dentistry and graduated from The University of Texas School of Dentistry Orthodontics Program. Pat was a captain in the United States Air Force during the Korean war serving in Greece and French Morocco. Dr. Alessandra had an orthodontics practice in Houston for forty years. He said that giving people beautiful smiles brought him great joy.

After retiring from his orthodontics practice, PaPa moved to Dallas with his wife, Fannie Lou, to help raise his five grandchildren. Pat was a kind, loving, generous and responsible man devoted to his family. He dearly loved his children and grandchildren and had a very positive influence in their lives, often sharing his wisdom and always emphasizing the importance of education saying, "it was one thing that could never be taken away from you."

Pat was an avid golfer, angler and hunter. He was quite proud of his "hole in one" and really enjoyed watching his bird dogs work coveys of quail. Pat will always be remembered fondly for his compassion, tenderness and warmth.

1 Corinthians 13:12 "For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known." Rejoice! Pat is seeing Him face to face. He is in Heaven with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 46 years, Fannie Lou Lyne, and his son, Patrick Anthony Jr.; he is survived by his son, Louis Enz Alessandra; his daughter, Mary Ann Alessandra Bryant and husband Jeff; his grandchildren, Megan Alessandra Simmons and husband Patrick, Michael Anthony Evetts and wife Chelsea, David Alan Evetts, Patrick Hilarion Alessandra and wife Irene, Julia Marie Alessandra; his great-grandson, Patrick Joseph Simmons III; and his sisters, Colleen Jennings and Erin Connally.

There will be a private graveside service for the family on Saturday, May 15th at 10:00 am at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home in Houston, Texas.

Memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association.
