Talitha Lee Taylor Guarniere
September 30, 1966 - April 17, 2020

Talitha Lee Taylor, age 53, died peacefully in her sleep on April 17, 2020 at Houston Hospice, Houston, Texas, after a six-year struggle with health complications from a past surgery.

Talitha, “T”, was born in China Lake, CA on September 30, 1966 to Mary Margaret Crews Taylor (d. 2009) and Thomas L. Taylor (d. 1971). Talitha was raised in East Columbia, Texas and in Memorial (Houston). She attended Duchesne Academy and graduated Class of 1984 from Robert E. Lee High School. Talitha received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Texas A&M University, a Bachelor of Science Nursing from University of Houston and a earned a Master’s degree in Science from Texas Woman’s University. Talitha became a licensed Nurse Practitioner.

From an early age Talitha was fond of all animals, especially horses. She became a young equestrian. Her grandparents bought Talitha her first horse, May Day, when she was 8 years old. Some her happiest moments in life where spent in the barn or riding. She faithfully participated in the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show annually until she was unable to attend. Talitha also cherished her kitties (as she called them) and her dogs.

Talitha was a kind and generous person. Talitha was always there for her friends and family. She would drop everything to be there and support them. She always put their needs above her own. Talitha was a best friend to many people. She could talk for hours about any topic or no topic at all!

Talitha reconnected with William (“Bill”) D. Guarniere in 2010 and after a 4 year romance they were married on September 29, 2014. Talitha and Bill had a special relationship. Bill remained by Talitha’s side during her final days in the hospital and at Houston Hospice. Bill held Talitha’s hand as she transitioned from this world.

Talitha is survived by her husband, William D. Guarniere and preceded in death by her father, Thomas L. Taylor and mother, Mary Margaret Crews Taylor.

Talitha’s beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30am., Saturday, April 17, at Columbia United Methodist Church, 315 S. 16th Street, West Columbia, TX 77486. Interment will follow at Old Columbia Cemetery; a reception will follow the burial.
