William Paul Temple Jr
1942 - 2021

William Paul Temple Jr., 78, of Montreat, N.C., went to be with Jesus on Feb. 13, 2021, at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2021, at 3 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church in the Chapel (West entry). Officiating will be Toby Osborne.

Paul was born in Houston, Texas, on March 30, 1942. He was the son of William Paul Temple Sr. and Jamie Lee Temple.

Paul graduated from Texas A&M University. He married Carol, his wife of 57 years in Houston in 1963. They moved to Lake Charles, La., in 1969 where he was President of Central Testing Co. in Sulphur, La., until his retirement. Paul served as President of the Board for Boys and Girls Village in Lake Charles, La., and served as Chairman of the Board for Evergreen Presbyterian Ministries in Minden, La. Paul was a committed follower of Jesus Christ and loved helping people by delivering food baskets to the less fortunate, working in prison ministry, teaching adult Sunday school classes and volunteering with Texas Baptist Men building churches, camps, and furniture for the camps. Paul was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, having shared many Frappuccino's and lots of hamburgers, and fries. Upon retirement, he moved to Montreat, N.C., and was a member of Christ Community Church where he sang in the choir and he also served on the prayer team at the Cove (Billy Graham Retreat Center).

Paul is survived by his wife, Carol Temple; his children, Warren Temple (Vickie) and Kathryn Caldarera (Chris); grandchildren, Blake, Taylor, Julie, and Kelly Caldarera, Courtney Howell, and Rebecca Temple; sister, Linda Snowden (Gerry) and several nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved.
