David Scott Frey
November 9, 1965 ~ February 23, 2021 (age 55)

David Scott Frey went to be with the Lord on February 23rd at the age of 55 after a hard battle with Atypical Early Onset Alzheimer’s. He was born in Denton, Texas on November 9th, 1965.

Scott graduated from Van High School as the Valedictorian and received the Presidential Scholarship to attend Tyler Junior College. He went on to study Mechanical Engineering at his beloved Texas A&M University. Scott’s career was with multiple Texas companies; Trane, Ketema, Mycom, and Fujikoki America, in the HVAC department of the automotive industry.

Scott was married to Dayna for almost 29 years and has lived in many places in Texas but settled in Waxahachie for the last 19 years. They were blessed to have two children, Elliot and Ashlynn, who were the light of his life. He loved his family dearly and would do anything to spend time with them. Scott led an active life and enjoyed running half marathons, cycling, camping, hunting, traveling, watching his children play tennis, and participating in anything his wife or kids were interested in. He enjoyed spending time and vacationing with his extended family in Cancun and Montana. Recently Scott was blessed with two grandchildren, Lucas and Kinsley. Although he did not have much time on earth to spend with them, he loved them and his family dearly.

As the spiritual leader of his family, Scott led and prayed with his family, following God’s word throughout his life. He served as a Sunday school teacher and an AWANA Leader in various church homes. He was active at Waxahachie Bible Church, The Avenue and his final church home being Stonegate Church.

Scott is survived by his loving wife Dayna, son J. Elliot and wife Kaleen, daughter Ashlynn, and grandchildren Lucas and Kinsley. His mother, Judy Frey, brothers Michael Sr. and wife Terry, Lee Frey and wife Kim, Chris Frey and wife Angie, Sister Cindy Huffman and husband Jason. Nephews Jason, Michael Jr., Clint, John Christopher and Justus, nieces Samantha, Peyton and Olivia, many Aunts, Uncles and cousins. As well as his loving Harlan in-laws, Harris and Beverly, David, Keith, Leeanna and Shelley. Nephews Jackson, Nicholas, Matthew, nieces Megan, Kendra and many lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his father Bert Lee Frey.

The Frey family will be holding an outdoor memorial service at Stonegate Church in Midlothian on March 6th at 2:00pm to remember the life of Scott. We would love for you to join us and share in this time. We are currently setting up a Tribute page through the Alzheimer’s Association.
