Stephen Paul "Sandman" Sanders
March 18, 1970 - February 11, 2021

Stephen Paul "Sandman" Sanders passed unexpectedly due to a long fight with Type 1 Diabetes on February 11, 2021. Never wanting to complain or be a burden on his family, he fought the disease with stoic strength.

He is survived by his son Mason Lee Sanders, his parents Luther Lee and Margaret Sanders, and his siblings David Lee Sanders III (Kasey Sanders), and Christine Elizabeth Melanson (Paul Melanson).

He graduated in 1996 from Texas A&M University (College Station). Steve was the life of any gathering, and he loved nothing more than bringing friends and family together to tell stories and celebrate shared experiences. He was one of the Best storytellers, often having us laughing for hours. His loyalty, empathy, and acceptance to humanity was unique and beautiful to behold; his heart was open to everyone. When Steve became your friend, he was your loyal friend for life. He will be greatly missed, and for those who knew him were lucky for the chance.
