William Donald Harris III
DECEMBER 9, 1961 – DECEMBER 27, 2020

William Donald Harris III, 59, of Frisco, Texas, passed away on December 27, 2020 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Pasadena, Texas, on December 9, 1961 to Margie and William Donald Harris Jr. On September 30, he married Stacy Thompson and became the proud father of two daughters, Sami and Sydney.

Donnie graduated from Texas A&M University in 1984 where he received a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering. He then graduated from Southern Methodist University where he received his MBA. Donnie began his career in Petroleum Engineering at Arco Oil & Gas Company, J.R. Latimer Jr., Inc., Vice President at DeGolyer and MacNaughton, and then went on to become President and Chief Executive Officer of Forrest A. Garb and Associates, Inc.

He was a member of the Dallas and Grand Prairie Gun Clubs, the National Rifle Association, the Society of Petroleum Engineers, and the Texas A&M Association of Former Students. Donnie was also a member of Grace Avenue United Methodist Church in Frisco where he served as an usher and played on their men's softball team for many years. Donnie had a passion for skeet shooting, volleyball, the Texas Rangers, HQ Trivia, Words With Friends, Sudoku, softball, boating, skiing and most of all spending quality time with his friends and family.

Donnie had a huge heart and would do anything for anyone. His generous spirit was evident in everything he did. None of his accomplishments made him more proud than his daughters.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Margie and William Donald Harris II. He is survived by his wife, Stacy; daughters, Samantha Mellott (Cole) and Sydney Saucedo; brother, Ken Harris; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous other family members. He is also survived by his dog, Scamp, whom he loved dearly.
