Melinda S Moses
JUNE 24, 1960 – FEBRUARY 1, 2021
Melinda Sue Moses, 60, passed away on February 1, 2021 in Arlington, Texas following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on June 24, 1960 to Jean Locke Moses and Dayton Moses in Bryan, Texas. Her father was an officer in the United States Air Force, so her family relocated often and lived in many states and several foreign countries. After her family finally settled in Ft. Worth, Melinda was able to pursue her love of animals by caring for her two horses.
When Melinda went to college, she was one of only a few students who brought her horses with her to College Station. She spent her weekends out in the country horseback riding with her grandfather and friends. In 1982, she graduated with a business degree from Texas A&M University. She began her career as a manager for Toys R Us, much to the delight of her niece and nephews who called her Mindy. Later she moved on to her dream job as a manager for Barnes and Noble Booksellers. Her love of books and pride in what she did was evident to all who knew her.
Melinda was preceded in death by her parents, Jean and Dayton Moses, her brother, Michael Moses, her aunt, Jo Ann Locke, and her aunt and uncle, Nancy and Pete Stankosky.
Melinda is survived by her sister, Michele and husband, Brian Schrader; nephews, Steve Schrader and wife Tiffany, Chris Schrader and wife Whitney, Drew Schrader and wife Kelly, Todd Schrader, Lee Ross; niece, Taylor Moses; sister-in-law, Brenda Ross; cousins, Jim Stankosky, Laura Stankosky and husband Charlie Howell; and seven great-nieces and nephews.
