1953 - 2020
Dr. Gary S. Smith, of Fort Worth, Texas, died on October 30, 2020 at the age of 67.
Gary was born on August 26, 1953 in Orange, Texas. Gary received his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University in College Station and his DDS from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas. He practiced dentistry in Grapevine, Texas for many years and was a respected member of the community.
Gary was a curious, life-long learner with a wealth of knowledge about American history, astronomy, biology, medicine, Texas Aggie football, and politics. He was able to engage in informed discussions about almost any topic. He was a generous soul who was always willing to help his loved ones.
Gary is loved and will be missed by his surviving children, Lindsay Buckley (Brian) and Haley Smith (Eelco), his five grandchildren Niall, Cormac, Elodie, Louisa, and Evie, his surviving siblings, and his numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Robert and Hazel Smith.
Sadly, due to the ongoing pandemic and international travel limitations, no services will be held at this time. His children look forward to safely reuniting and scattering their father’s ashes in his beloved Texas at a later date. Condolences may be sent to 2803 Harriman Road Durham, NC 27705.
