Joe Lewis Scasta, Jr.
July 18, 1940 ~ June 2, 2020 (age 79)
Joe Lewis Scasta, Jr. age 79, of Hillsboro passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at his residence. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM on Friday, June 5, 2020 prior to the funeral service at 2:00 PM, at The First United Methodist Church in Hillsboro with Pastor Tommy Prud’homme officiating. Burial will be 11:00 AM Saturday, June 6, 2020, at Wheelock Cemetery in Wheelock, Texas.
Joe was born July 18, 1940 in Bryan, Texas to Joe Lewis and Anna Ruth Scasta. He was united in marriage to Phyllis Ann (Smith) Scasta on July 23, 1966. Joe worked as a USDA soil conservationist for 40 years and was active in the Texas National Guard. He was also a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church. And a 40-year member of the lion’s club.
He was preceded in death by his parents and Infant daughters: Katherine and Kay.
Joe is survived by his wife Phyllis Scasta, of Hillsboro; son, Craig and wife, Tracey Scasta of College Station; granddaughters, Hallie and Becca Scasta; brother, Buster and wife, Peggy Scasta of Wheelock, Texas; along with numerous extended family and a host of loving friends.
