Obituary for Col. Michael T. Grabfelder
September 26, 1948 - April 29, 2020
San Antonio, Texas | Age 71

Col. Michael T. Grabfelder, age 71, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on September 26, 1948 in San Antonio, Texas to Rae and Thomas Grabfelder. Following his graduation from Burkburnett High School in 1966, Mike attended Texas A&M University and was a proud member and eventual commander of Squadron "Animal" 8. He served honorably for 28 years in the United States Air Force Medical Service Core and retired as a Colonel in 1999. Mike's second career began as an executive for a government contracting company providing services for the federal government. He served in this capacity for 17 years before retiring in 2016. Mike enjoyed working in his yard, watching Dallas Cowboy and Fightin' Texas Aggie football, and buying things for his grandchildren. He loved his family unconditionally and was generous to both family and friends with his time and his pocketbook.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Donna Grabfelder, his children Michael and Haley Grabfelder, Michael's wife Laura, his grandchildren Kyle, Katy, and Preslie, his sister Ginger Martin and her husband Cecil, and his spoiled dogs, Pickles and Coco.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Please check back for more information. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (www.pancan.org).
