CHARLES ALLAN CROSS SR.

December 18, 1934 – April 29, 2020

“Rest in Peace knowing God’s abundant grace and mercy is available to us all.”

Charles Allan Cross SR. was called home by his maker on April 29, 2020, after a short battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Charles Herman and Beatrice King Cross, son, Charles Allan Cross JR., and daughter Cathleen Cross. He is a member of the FIGHTING TEXAS AGGIE Class of 1957. He carried that fighting spirit with him throughout his 85 years. He remained undaunted by the many challenges he faced in his life. Gifted with a keen intellect, he embodied the entrepreneurial spirit engaging in many different types of businesses including landscape architecture as well as pioneering electronic data systems in the late 60’s. As a proud conservative, he was a strong advocate for education encouraging learning for himself and others. He had an exceptional musical talent playing many instruments by ear including the piano, guitar, steel guitar and was learning the fiddle at the age of 85. He used his musical talent to play at church events and in the Dallas Missions for the homeless.

He was survived by his wife of 44 years, Barbara Crawford Cross of Grapevine, Texas, son and daughter in-law, Jay ’84 and Debbie ’87 Cross of Southlake, Texas, son and daughter in-law, Chad ’94 and Lynee’ ’95 Cross also of Southlake, Texas, daughter Jennifer Cross of Dallas, Texas. He will also be missed by his 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He will be laid to rest at Crown Hill Memorial Park in Dallas next to his parents. A memorial service will be held at White Chapel Methodist Church in Southlake, Texas, in late June 2020 when permissible.
