James Warren Smith
May 16, 1942 - August 23, 1968

Sergeant Adams was a former student class of 1964. He attended and was studying mechanical engineering. 

Sergeant Adams began his tour on August 6, 1967 and served as a Medical Specialist with Special Forces A233. While constructing a hospital, Sergeant Smith was killed through hostile action by artillery rocket mortar in South Vietnam, Darlac Province. Sergeant Smith's medals include the Purple Heart, Combat Medical Badge, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Army Presidential Unit Citation, Vietnam Gallantry Cross and the Army Good Conduct Medal.

James is honored on the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial in Washington DC. Name inscribed at VVM Wall, Panel 47w, Line 53.

Sergeant Adams was survived by his wife Darla Sue.
