Kristen Lorene Wooster
March 29, 1993 - April 13, 2020

Kristen Lorene Wooster, age 27, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas. Born on March 29, 1993 in San Antonio, Texas to Linda and Kevin Wooster. Kristen grew up in Hollywood Park, attending Hidden Forrest Elementary and Bradley Middle Schools. She was graduated from Churchill High School and Texas A&M University. Her life was filled with many wonderful opportunities, including Girl Scouts and traveling. She was a gifted athlete in volleyball and swimming, and a lover of movies, poetry, art, and horseback riding. Kristen profoundly loved music and played the viola, flute, and piano, and had a deep connection with nature, wildlife, and being outdoors. She was an avid reader of books covering many diverse subjects and cultures, and had a wide variety of interests. Kristen enjoyed cooking for her family and eagerly experimented with recipes of her own creation. She loved the Lord and spent many years learning and teaching Christian faith, and will be most remembered for her sensitivity, kind spirit, and gentle soul. Kristen was grateful for her family, and she dearly loved her little dog Luna. She fulfilled her dream of living in the Colorado mountains, working two years in human resources at a financial services company in Denver, and then returning to Texas to complete her bachelor's degree in Human Resource Development.

Kristen struggled with depression and anxiety. With loving support from her parents, family, and friends, she bravely fought her illness. The strength and courage Kristen displayed in fighting depression inspired all who knew her. Sadly, her pain became overwhelming. After recent counseling, and over the last few weeks, Kristen had moments of clarity and comfort, and she could smile and laugh with us. Ultimately, Kristen lost the struggle here on earth and went with God to be at peace. She will always be remembered for the love and affection she showed family, friends, and the people she knew.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents; Edwin M. Klar, Jr. and Joyce Verkamp Klar. Kristen is survived by her parents; sister, Klara Wooster Inurria (Nathan); paternal grandparents, Carol and Robert Wooster; and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A private ceremony will be held for the family at Holy Cross Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life for Kristen will be held sometime in the future for all family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness or AllianceofHope.org.
