Roll Call Tribute

Lauren was born in San Antonio, Texas on September 14, 1990 (starting her life as a Karnes City Badger) and she lost her battle with cancer on April 9, 2020 at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center with her parents by her side. No one has ever fought harder or been braver and, against such adversity, as our Punk. To her last day, she remained the kind and wonderful friend to all who loved her…the girl with the biggest heart and the million-dollar smile.

Lauren was preceded in death by her Grandparents George Morgan, Jimmie Morgan, and Doris Janke. She is survived by her parents Mike and Debbie Morgan, Grandfather Larry Janke, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, great aunts, great uncles, Godmothers, adopted Grandmothers, her precious Jack, and a multitude of the most wonderful friends in the world. She had a way of finding her people and when she loved you, she was forever loyal.

She graduated from Pasadena Memorial High School in 2009. She attended Texas A&M University in College Station and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2013. And being the person who always did what she put her mind to, she moved on to South Texas College of Law and earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence degree and became a member of the Texas State Bar in 2016. At the time of her passing, Lauren had been an attorney since January 2018 at the firm of Dore’ Rothberg McKay in Houston, Texas. She loved her work family and they were an amazing source of love and support to her.

In her high school years, she was actively involved in Volleyball, Golf, Best Buddies, and was the Best Baseball Statistician Pasadena Memorial ever had. In her college years, she was a member of the Fighting Texas Aggies Trap and Skeet Team but mostly just enjoyed her friends and every minute of being an Aggie. It has been her lifelong goal and she embraced everything that was the Aggie Spirit…to include a few nights at the Dixie Chicken. Moving on to Law School, her greatest joy there was the friendships made and she cherished every one of them.

Lauren was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a proud member of the Houston Corgis. She was so excited to become a HLSR Committee Member this year. The loves of her life were her two Corgis, Sully and Julep. She also leaves behind her beautiful horse, Breeze.

Last year, Lauren started visiting a church near her home, Covenant Lutheran, and it was instant love. She knew at once they were to be her church family. The congregation embraced her with their love and lifted her up until the very end.

The world will forever be a better place because she was here. The pain and sorrow in those she left behind is beyond words but we know she did not deserve the suffering she had gone through and she is now at peace and happy with our Lord and Savior and her loved ones that went before her. Never was there a sweeter and more generous girl. You knew she loved you and she showed you even through the suffering. To honor Lauren, in lieu of flowers we are asking for donations be made to The Lauren Morgan Corgi Rescue and Relief Fund. All proceeds from the GoFundMe acct that was previously set up will also go directly to this fund.

She will be buried at Brookside Cemetery in Houston, Texas in a private gravesite ceremony on Wednesday, April 15th at 10:00 with Pastor Ele Clay presiding. Due to the current Covid19 situation, a Memorial Service celebrating her life will be postponed until a later date. Her family would like to thank again everyone who supported her, prayed for her, and loved her through her battle. She will forever be our Beautiful Warrior.
