Obituary
Charles Minter, 85, of Beaverton, OR, passed away peacefully on November 10 of natural causes, surrounded by his family.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Allie; his children, Charley, Susie, Dan, and Leigh; and his grandchildren Andrew, Samori, Dillon, Joshua, Macey, and Connor.

Chuck was born on the 3rd of August 1934 in Austin, TX to Edna and William Minter. He was proud to be called an Aggie, graduating from Texas A&M University in 1955 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. After serving in the U.S. Army, he worked for many years for Westinghouse and then Asea Brown Boveri in the heavy power transmission division helping to bring clean electric power to the great Northwest. He married the great love of his life, Allie, of Pittsburgh, PA, and they enjoyed well over 50 happy years together.

Chuck was a devoted husband, loving father and an avid volunteer in his community. He treasured his grandkids, and his favorite pastime was attending every sporting event or activity humanly possible. He was always ready with a good story, a cheerful smile, and perhaps owing to his Texan heritage, he was perhaps at times just a bit overly proud of his concealed handgun license. He had a sharp wit and would look you in the eye and tell you like it is, but always with a gentle demeanor. He was the kind of neighbor and friend you hope for, and he is dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

A gathering to honor and celebrate Chuck's memory will be held on Sunday, December 15th, from 2 to 5 p.m., at the Sunset Athletic Club in Beaverton. Please contact any family member for details.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Habitat for Humanity, Portland/Metro East chapter (https://habitatportlandmetro.org/get-involved/donate/).
