George Henry Jay, of Plano, TX, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2017 in Plano, TX. He was born November 7, 1926 in Crystal City, TX to Henry C. and Clemmie (Miller) Jay. He was 90 years of age. George faithfully served his country in the U.S. Navy during the time of World War II. He met and married Bonnie Rose Jay on July 23, 1960, They were married for 41 years at the time of her passing in 2002. Now, they are together forever. He leaves behind to cherish his memory three devoted sons, Gary L. Jay of Plano, TX, Richard W. Smith and wife Diane of Leonard, TX, Curtis D. Smith and wife Beth of Bonham, TX; his lovely daughter, Beverly A. Royse and her husband, Byron of Leonard, TX; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one dear sister, Annie Laurie Wolfram; and numerous other extended family and dear friends. The family will receive friends between 5 and 7:00 pm, Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Restland Funeral Home in staterooms C-D. The service for George will be on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at 12:30 pm at Restland Memorial Park in the Wildwood Chapel. Rev. Earnest Walt will officiate. Following the service, there will be a short procession to the Garden of the Cross for a brief committal service where George will be laid to rest beside his wife. Arrangements are under the care of Restland Funeral Home located at 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75243.
