Arthur Wallace Campbell, Jr. died November 26. He was born on November 6,
1923 in Little Rock, the son of Arthur Wallace and Margaret McCain Campbell,
he was reared at Scott, Arkansas. He attended school at Scott, Little Rock
Senior High School (Class of 1941) where he was in P.I.E. fraternity, and
Texas A & M (Class of 1945, although he received his degree in 1947 after
returning from military duty). He served as an engineer in the Army during
World War II, being in Europe 1944-46, retiring as a captain.

He held various positions for three major construction companies:
Morrison-Knudson, Harbert and Daniel, primarily in the United States (two
with local connections were as project manager on Table Rock Dam on the
White River in the 1950s and Murray Hydroelectric Plant in the 1980s, the
excavation for which created a small body of water in Cook's Landing Park in
North Little Rock that was named Lake Campbell in his honor), Morocco and
Turkey, but with other temporary assignments in France, Iran, Mozambique,
Vietnam and Venezuela. He retired in Greenville, South Carolina in 1989.
In 1949 he married Florence Hill of Louisville, Kentucky. They had
two children: Bonnie and Bruce. Florence died in 1994. After Florence's
death he married Betty Brown Wickard whom he had dated in high school, and
moved back to Little Rock. Betty died in 2003.

Following his return to Little Rock he was active in All Souls
Church at Scott, Scott Connections, volunteered for Meals-on-Wheels and
Arkansas Hospice, and after moving to Presbyterian Village in 2008 was on
the Residents' Council. The family is grateful for the care provided by the
staff of Presbyterian Village, You First Medical and Arkansas Hospice.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Bruce Philip
Campbell; his first wife, Florence; his second wife, Betty; and his
daughter, Bonnie Campbell Hill. He is survived by his son-in-law, Steve
Hill (Beverley) of Edmonds, Washington; grandchildren: Keith Bolling
(Shireen Shahrivar) of Seattle; Dr. Laura Campbell of Los Angeles; and Bruce
Hill of San Francisco; the daughters of Betty Wickard Campbell: Ann Willis
of Heber Springs and Jane Rogers (Jay) of Little Rock, and their children
and grandchildren; his sister, Ann Campbell Payne of Knoxville, Tennessee
and his brother, the Reverend Donald K. Campbell, II of Little Rock.

There will be a visitation on Saturday, December 14 from 10:00AM-11:30AM
at Presbyterian Village, 510 Brookside Drive, Little Rock , in the Campbell foyer of the
chapel. After the burial of ashes in Mt. Holly Cemetery there will be a
2:00PM memorial service on Saturday, December 14 at All Souls Church,
4601 Walkers Corner Road, Scott, followed by a reception.
