Karen Lee Griffiths
May 9, 1963 - November 23, 2019

Karen Lee Trimble Griffiths, Coppell, Texas was born in Houston on May 9, 1963 to Jimmy and Suzanne Trimble and passed away on November 23, 2019. Karen is survived by her loving husband, Christopher Alan Griffiths, Coppell, Texas; son, Christopher Avery Griffiths, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; daughter, Hannah Rose Griffiths, Coppell, Texas and Hannah’s boyfriend, Joe Han, Los Angeles, California; Karen’s mother, Suzanne Harvey Trimble, Lewisville, Texas; aunt, Saralee Bishop, Middletown, Ohio; sister, Traci and Mark Edwards, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and their children Brogan and Caden Edwards; Chris’ brothers and sisters: Dennis and Rhonda Griffiths, Phillip and Susan Griffiths, Gary Griffiths and fiancé Alice Sholar, Katherine Mitchiner, James Griffiths and fiancé Linda Trahan, Laurie and Reto Kurz, and Thomas Griffiths; many nieces, nephews (and greats). Karen was preceded in death by her father, Jimmy Rice Trimble and her brother, George Andrew (Andy) Trimble.

Karen attended Texas A&M University and received her degree in Architecture (Dec. 1985). She and her husband, Christopher Alan Griffiths, met as students in the Texas A&M School of Architecture in 1983, and they were married on August 25, 1987. Karen worked for Prudential designing lease spaces for corporate office relocations across the United States and then moved into the corporate quality process trainer position. They lived in Tom’s River, New Jersey from 1987 to 1995, where their children, Christopher Avery and Hannah Rose were born. In 1995 the family moved to the Dallas area. They immediately started looking for a church home and found it at Valley Ranch Baptist Church in Coppell, Texas.

Karen’s life was dedicated to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and serving Him brought her much joy. In high school, Karen was a youth advisor at her church in Spring, Texas, and was a youth director for Spring Wood Methodist Church after college. As a young mother, Karen was a founding member and the Children’s Director for the Coppell-Lewisville Community Bible Study class from its inception. She continued in that role as the class moved north and became the Denton County Class. She served as the Children and Youth Director in both the Denton County Day Class and the Coppell Evening Class for the past seven years. In addition, she was on the Servants Team for Community Bible Study at the national level for the last fifteen years and served as a Trainer and Training Coordinator for Children and Youth Directors throughout the United States. Karen was passionate about planting seeds in the lives of children and getting them on the path to know the Lord. She gracefully touched countless lives over her years of ministry to children, their families and to the children’s teachers who served alongside her.

In the Griffiths’ home, Avery’s and Hannah’s friends were always welcome, and Karen treated them all as though they were her own. Karen was loved by the children in the neighborhood, by their parents and by her church community.

Karen joyfully loved serving the Lord and her CBS team with excellence. Karen was a wonderful listener, a great cook, a devoted wife and mother, and a very loyal friend. She will be deeply missed by her many friends and her dear family.
