James K. Latimer, Jr.

9/20/1938 - 11-4-2019

James K. Latimer, Jr., 81, of Friendswood, TX passed away on Monday, November 4, 2019. He was born September 20, 1938 in Rayne, LA.

Jim Latimer grew up in Marlin, TX, and graduated from Texas A&M University in 1961 with a BS in Petroleum Engineering, in 1962 with a BA in Mathematics and in 1964 with a Masters in Petroleum Engineering. He worked for Sun Oil in Dallas, IBM in Houston on the Gemini and Apollo flights, developed systems for the Canadian Mounties in Canada, and other contract work for various petroleum companies in the Houston area. The family has lived in Friendswood, TX, since February 1974.

He leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Darleen Gentry Latimer, daughters, Cindy Latimer Damman and husband Ivo Damman and Debi Latimer Russell. He also leaves behind six grandchildren that will miss him: James, Melissa, and Allen Russell, and Maaike, Rianne, and Ninthe Damman.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019, at 10 A.M. at Friendswood Friends Church, 520 S. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546.
