SAN ANGELO — Mary Jane Kerr Moorehead, 78, of Temple, formerly of San Angelo, passed away Friday, March 19, 2004, in the company of family. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 22, in Fairmount Cemetery. Jane was born on Aug. 20, 1925, in Columbus, Ga., to Lilla Lucille Alverson Kerr and Robert Wilson Kerr III. She attended San Angelo Junior College and graduated with an associate degree in English in 1960. She attended Sul Ross State College and received a bachelor of arts in English with teacher certification in 1966. She graduated from Texas A&M University in 1974 with a master of science degree in Education Administration. She taught at Lake View High School, Edison Junior High School and Central High School, all in San Angelo. Jane was preceded in death by her parents, sister, two brothers, and son, James Dile. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, DORRIS DILE MOOREHEAD ; and six children, Doris Dawn Street and husband, Joe, of Edmond, Okla., Robert Madison "Matt" Moorehead of San Angelo, Texas, Leslie Dile Moorehead and wife, Toni, of Grapevine, Texas, Janey Ann Thompson and husband, David, of Temple, Texas, Joseph Wilson Moorehead and wife, Nelsie, of San Angelo, Texas, and Jeffery Lynn Moorehead of San Angelo, Texas. Jane was also blessed with 19 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and a multitude of friends and former students in the San Angelo area. She was an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church and later a member of First Baptist Church, where she had been a Sunday School teacher. Memorials may be made to the Scholarship Fund of the San Angelo Classroom Teachers Association.
