Died: September 23, 2019
Location: San Antonio, Texas

Carlos Gomez, age 67, passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, September 23, 2019. He was born on February 10, 1952, in Allende, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, to parents, Concepcion and Hermelinda Vega Gomez.

After graduating from Texas A&M University in 1974, he began his long, successful career as an architect, contractor, and builder. In 1976, he married Linda who was his partner not just in life, but in business as well. After his daughter and son were born in 1978 and 1981, respectively, he continued building custom homes and commercial buildings. He enjoyed classic cars, art, and fishing. He was loved by family and friends, and was known for his quick-witted humor and caring personality. After retirement, he continued to work in property development and investment. In 2008, he became a proud grandfather to Rylen, his only grandchild. Spending quality time with family and friends was what he enjoyed most in life. He brought smiles and laughter to everyone around him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Ramiro Gomez. Carlos is survived by Linda Elizondo Gomez, his wife of 43 years; daughter, Julie Anne Salinas and her husband, Mark; son Justin Carl Gomez; grandson, Rylen Scott Salinas; siblings, Maria Elena Zepeda and her husband Roy, Bertha Pena, Laura Gomez, and Pedro "Pete" Gomez.

The family will receive friends beginning at 4:00 P.M., Sunday, September 29, 2019, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
