Clifford Thomas "Cliff" Dungan
June 19, 1944 - September 27, 2019
A Celebration of Life for Clifford Thomas “Cliff” Dungan, age 75 of Rockdale will be 6:30 p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Minister Jason Hollinger officiating. Visitation will also be Thursday, 5:30 p.m. until service time.
Cliff was born June 19, 1944 in Dallas to Clair and Barbara Jean (Gibbony) Dungan. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Dallas and went on to receive his Bachelor degree in Animal Science from Texas A&M University in College Station. While at A&M, he was First Sergeant in the Corp of Cadets. On June 10, 1967 he and Marilyn Elizabeth “Betsy” Bisbee were married in Rockport. He was a member of Murray Street Church of Christ in Rockdale. Before moving to Rockdale, He worked at Central Soya as a manager in a turkey processing plant in North Carolina. He then worked in textiles, after textiles he moved to Arizona and Wyoming to work at Brown and Root to be a crane operator. He then moved to Rockdale where he worked 23 years with Fluor Daniel in the power plant in Rockdale as a crane operator and industrial maintenance. He helped lay the first iron to start the building of Unit 4 at the power plant. He retired in 2001. He was currently working as a photographer with The Rockdale Reporter.
Cliff passed away Friday, September 27, 2019 in the St. David's Hospital in Georgetown. He was preceded in death by his parents Clair and Barbara Jean Dungan and his mother-in-law, Pauline Bisbee.
Surviving are his wife, Betsy Dungan of Rockdale; their daughters, Shannon Thompson and husband Reed of Leander and Candace Dungan of Seattle, Washington and two granddaughters, Claire Thompson of Leander and Annabelle Dungan Arbanasin of Seattle, Washington.
