Raymond Edwin Bridges
August 28, 1940 – August 29, 2019

“Eddy” Bridges, 79, of College Station, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2019, in College Station. A visitation will begin at 1 pm, until the time of service at 2 PM, on Tuesday, September 3, 2019, at the funeral center. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow in the Memorial Cemetery of College Station – Aggie Filed of Honor. Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers, Bryan-College Station.

Raymond Edwin “Eddy” Bridges was born on August 28, 1940 in Galveston, Texas. Eddy’s parents were Nedra McReynolds and Raymond Bridges who preceded him in death. He grew up in Angleton, Texas before coming to College Station to attend Texas A&M University where he earned a degree from the College of Architecture. After graduating from Texas A&M, Eddy joined the navy and was stationed first in Spain and finally in Antarctica. After being honorably discharged, he joined the firms of Fish Engineering and Construction, Inc., and Linbeck Construction Corporation. Eddy also served in Pasadena, California as a project manager before returning to Houston. Texas.

Eddy’s first wife was Kathryn Ivey and with her he had two daughters, Angela Kleppe Prewitt and Pamela Johnson. Eddy also has three grandsons, Trey Kleppe, Tyler Kleppe, and Connor Johnson. His first wife, Kathryn, and grandson Travis preceded him in death. Eddy married Cheryl Holland Bridges in 2003 and they have lived in College Station since then.

Throughout his life Eddy enjoyed sailing competitions, and the Rolls Royce Owners Club activities. He was an avid enthusiast of sports, particularly Aggie football.
