PASS CHRISTIAN --- Retired Air Force Colonel Harold W. Rainey, 77, died Wednesday, April 26, 2000, in Pass Christian.
Mr. Rainey was a native of Estabuchie and a longtime resident of the Gulf Coast. He was a graduate of Hattiesburg High School and Texas A&M University. He was retired as a Colonel from the Air Force after over 33 years of service. He was employed with Computer Science Corporation at NSTL. He was of the Protestant faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion Allen and Amanda Christine Tisdale Rainey; three brothers, Walter C. Rainey, Aubrey B. Rainey and Thomas C. Rainey; and two sisters, Myrtis C. Lott and Ida Mae Jones.
Survivors include his wife, Gisela Legal Rainey of Pass Christian; a son, Wayne H. Rainey of Sparks, Nev.; a daughter, Kathy Anne Stelly of Lafayette, La.; a sister, Ethel Beasley of Tampa, Fla.; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, U.S. 49 North, Gulfport, where friends may call one hour before service time. Burial will be in Biloxi National Cemetery.
The family prefers memorials to Diamondhead S.P.C.A. or Diamondhead Community Church, 5301 Diamondhead Circle, Diamondhead, MS 39525.
