Pastor Tuffy Loftin will officiate the service. Mark passed away the evening of June 29, 2019 at his home in Leona, surrounded by those he loved.

Born Jeffrey Mark Erwin in Houston, Texas, he was one of four children to parents, JP and Wanda “Rose” (Powell) Erwin. Mark grew up in Houston and graduated from Dobie High School where he was a member of the Dobie High School Band. Mark attended Texas A&M University from 1974-1975 where he was a proud member of the Corps of Cadets and the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band. He returned to complete his Master of Industrial Distribution degree in 2015, fulfilling his life-long dream of earning his Aggie ring.

Mark married Mary Ann Barbee March 28, 1998 in Leona where they lived twenty-one wonderful years together. Mark had also resided in Normangee, Midway, Nacogdoches, and Culpeper, Virginia throughout his life. Mark enjoyed hunting, fishing, swimming, smoking briskets, Aggie football, and spending time with his family. Mark was a loyal member of the Cowboy Church of Leon County and always spoke fondly of his church family. As a member of the Scottish Rite Freemasons, Mark earned the designation of 32nd degree Master of the Royal Secret and once served as Grand Master of the Centerville Masonic Lodge #1291 AF and AM.

Mark will forever be remembered as an intelligent, witty, loving, caring, family man with an infectious charisma, animated personality, and knack for making people laugh. He served the Lord, supported his children, adored his grandchildren, and left a legacy of love with them all. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Erwin of Leona; father, JP Erwin of Houston; sons, Jeffrey Erwin and his wife, Courtney, of Cypress and Tyler Shannon and his fiancé, Memorie, of Taylor; daughters, Erin Kimich and her husband, Stephen, of Anderson and Micaela Erwin of College Station; siblings, Donald “Dee” Erwin and his wife, Kellie, of Houston, Vickie Murphy of Magnolia, and Renee Erwin-Perham and her husband, Mike, of Houston. Mark is also survived by his 5 grandchildren, Colton and Wyatt Kimich and Mae, Amelia, and Nolan Erwin.

In lieu of flowers, the Erwin family requests memorial donations be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (cff.org).

Arrangements are under the direction of Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas.
