James Fredrick Rose

James Fredrick Rose was born September 6th, 1937 in Yorktown, Texas to Linson Miller and Willie Bernice Rose. He was the second child of three children.

James attended Yorktown Elementary School and Solomon Melvin Cole Junior and Senior High School. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Education from Huston-Tillotson College and his Master’s degree from Texas A&M University.

He confessed his love for Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church.

He started teaching Mathematics in Caldwell, Texas in 1969 and later transferred to Bryan Independent School District where he taught a total of 37 years. Of those 37 years he was a teacher, Assistant Principal, and Principal all within the Bryan District. He taught at Hamilton State School for five years and the Math Lab at Texas A&M for eight years.

He was proceeded in death by his father Linson Miller, mother Willie Bernice Rose, his brother Edward Lee Rose and daughter-in-law Liza Rose.

James leaves to cherish his memories with his loving wife of 38 years Lorine Johnson-Rose, one son Edward Darnay Rose of Dallas, Texas. Three daughters: Margaret Summers (Al) Indianapolis, Indiana, Judy Mc Keage (Clyde) Lansing, Illinois, and Jessica Williams (Dwalyn) Bryan, Texas. One Brother: Frank Louis Marshall and One Step-Sister-Floristyne Mackey-both from the Houston, Texas Area. Seven grandchildren- John W. Jones Jr., Alexis Rose-Martin, Allan Summers, Taylor Rose, Kimberly Hinkle, Kayden Hinkle, and Liam Rose, and seven great grandchildren- Olivia Martin, Arden Jones, David Martin, Cameron Jones, Evan Jones, Ian Jones and Greyson Jones and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday July 5, 2019 from 10am to 5pm with a wake service to follow from 6pm to 8pm in the chapel of Daniel and Son Funeral 401 W. 18th street Bryan, Texas 77803.

Funeral Service will be July 6, 2019 at 11am at Greater Tabernacle Baptist Church 907 Florida st. Bryan, Tx 77803.

Internment will be Sunday July 7, 2019 at 2:30pm at Memorial Community Cemetery known as Bethlehem A.M.E Cemetery.
