Glenda Haygood Dennison
JULY 17, 1951 – JUNE 11, 2019

Glenda Dennison, 67, passed away Tuesday morning, June 11, 2019, at home in Georgetown, TX surrounded by her loved ones.
The daughter of Beth (Wells) and Hooper Haygood, Glenda Gayle Haygood, was born July 17, 1951 in Tyler, TX. She spent her childhood as a “preachers kid” moving frequently as her dad pastored numerous United Methodist congregations. As a child she lived in Canton, Hawkins, Groveton, Baytown, and Tyler. A later move in her teen years brought her to Houston where she graduated from Milby High School. At Milby she was an officer in the GBC and was an active member of the thespian society. She started her college career then married her first husband with whom she had Jenni, Christi, and Geoff Turner. On August 2, 1982, she met the love of her life, Charlie Dennison. She and Charlie were best of friends for four years before combining their families in marriage on December 28, 1986. Charlie brought her Chuck, Cody, and Dani Dennison, who she raised as her own from that point forward. Charlie and Glenda raised their family in Katy, TX while she worked downtown for nearly 15 years at Andrews Kurth. After the kids had left home, they enjoyed living in a loft in Downtown Houston.

Charlie and Glenda made the initial move to the Austin area from Houston on January 1, 2001. They made their move to Sun City in 2004. In 2008, Charlie and Glenda moved to College Station, for her to fulfill her lifelong dream of finishing her degree in English. She graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Creative Writing in 2010 and they then returned to Sun City to live out their retirement years. Charlie and Glenda enjoyed traveling with friends, jig saw puzzles, antique shopping, watching Aggie football games, dining with friends, and various Sun City Social groups. Individually she enjoyed attending book club, writing (several short stories were completed and a few novels started), running races, creating displays for her famous Snow Village, card games, and her many "therapy” sessions with friends.

Glenda is survived by her husband of nearly 33 years and primary caretaker for nearly five, Charlie Dennison; and their six children; Chuck Dennison of Pearland, TX, Cody Dennison and wife Stefanie of Larchmont, NY, Danielle Dennison Harnett and husband Zach of Hutto, TX, Jenni Turner Woodward and husband Scott of Dallas TX, Christi Turner Eggstaff and husband Justin of Oakton, VA, and Geoff Turner and Lana Lawrence of Austin, TX. She also had twelve grandchildren; Alix, Cody, Dylan, Charlee Gayle, and Will from Dani, Clara, Caroline and Cate from Jenni, Braden and Ryne from Christi, and Harry and Ruben from Cody. She is also survived by her father, Hooper Haygood of Houston, sister Sherra Babcock and husband Jim of Chautauqua, NY, and brother Bill Haygood and wife Lesly of Cypress TX, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, many who she had special relationships with. Glenda is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Beth Haygood.

The family will have a Celebration of Life Service with a reception following on Sunday, June 16th at 1:30 p.m. in Georgetown, Texas at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home.
