Albert Lawrence Ball
1932 - 2019

Albert Lawrence Ball passed away Sunday, March 24, 2019 while surrounded by his loving family. Albert was born 12 July 1932 in Galveston, Texas. He was the first child of Albert Eli and Frances Coppinger Ball. Albert’s father was a telegraph agent for the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railroad, so the family moved often throughout Texas. Most of Lawrence’s childhood was in Rule, TX and he graduated high school there in 1951. Following graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He became an Engineman, Petty Officer Second Class, and was deployed to the war in Korea. After the Navy, Albert attended Texas A&M, receiving a Bachelors of Science Degree in 1961.



He and his wife, Sandra Clark, were married in 1966 in Pearland, TX. They had a son, Albert Levi, in 1972, and a daughter, Cassandra Mercedes in 1974. Albert retired from Transocean with over 20 years of service in 1991. Albert thrived in Pearland for over 50 years. He enjoyed the local Scouts, the outdoors, reading about history, and being with his grandchildren.



Albert is predeceased by his parents, Albert Eli and Frances Coppinger. He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Sandra Clark Ball, son Albert Levi Ball and wife Meredith of Pearland, and daughter Cassandra Mercedes King and husband Greg of Webster, TX. Sister, Karen F. Covey of San Angelo, TX. Grandchildren Amber King, Daniel King, Johanna Ball, and Elizabeth Ball. Numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Services for albert will be held at Clayton Funeral Home, 5530 W. Broadway, Pearland, TX 77581. The visitation takes place Tuesday, March 26, 2019 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at 11:00 am with Pastor Barbara Fyffe officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at SouthPark Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
