Born in Crystal City, Texas with five other siblings. He is survived by his ex-wife Joyce White of Cadillac, Michigan; sons Delton White of Denton, Texas and Preston White of Asheville, North Carolina; daughter Linda White of Temple, Texas.
Dr. White has one grand daughter Chelsea White-Williams and three great grandchildren: Elijah, Addy and Ava Williams of Denton, Texas.
Dr. White is an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. After his enlistment he attended Texas A & M University with a B.S. Degree in Industrial Engineering. Later he received a Master’s Degree from Southern Methodist University in Anthropology and a Ph.D. in
Anthropology. Dr. White wrote many articles and published works in the field of Anthropology during his career.
Dr. Roger White also studied Astrophysics at Princeton University which landed him a job at NASA in Houston, Texas. In his elderly years he moved to Temple, Texas to be near family.
Dr. Roger White’s favorite motto is: Have a Purpose-Make a Difference. He had a purpose and he made a difference in all the lives he touched.
Funeral service for Dr. White will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Hewett-Arney Funeral Home in Temple, TX. Visitation will be held before the serves from 11-1:00pm.
