Edward William "Bill" Hegmann
April 10, 1932 - February 10, 2019

Edward William “Bill” Hegmann made his final journey on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of the late Joan Hegmann whom he married in August of 1953. Loving father of Michael Hegmann, Mary Even, Kenneth Hegmann, Bret Hegmann and Steven Hegmann. Son of the late Bernice Cohen Hegmann and Edward William Hegmann. Brother of Ann Jircik. Grandfather of Thomas, Brian, Rachel, Sarah, Eric, Christina, Sophie, Lucas and the late Rebecca. Great-grandfather of Isabella, Thomas Jr., Jonathan, Sofia, Olivia, Benjamin, Judah, Lillian, James, Abigail, Madelynn, Gabriel, Annabelle, Seth and Deme. Uncle of Jimmy, Debbie, Liz, Matthew, Greg, Chris and Charlotte.

As Husband, Father, Grandfather, Son, Uncle, and Friend; Bill has left a legacy of unswerving and faithful devotion to God, his family, his community and his country. He was always ready to support, advise, help, or lead where ever needed. He lived his life generously giving of himself and all he had physically, spiritually and financially. In his professional career, Bill worked as an electrical engineer and computerized process systems manager at Union Carbide until retirement. He was an avid saltwater fisherman and enjoyed traveling extensively with his wife and family. Playing bridge was a favorite hobby of his, in fact he played his last game of bridge the day before his passing. He was very active in his church, specifically the Knights of Columbus, facilitating the Catholic Charismatic prayer meeting for many years, and administering communion to patients in the hospitals of his community. He volunteered as a guide at Jean Lafitte National Park as well as many other community activities.

The imprint he leaves by the example he was to all of his family has been and will continue to be an inspiration of a life lived in constant pursuit of the High Calling of God in Christ Jesus. His passing leaves a void in many lives and he will be dearly missed.
