Larry Adolph Maresh
December 25, 1939 - April 26, 2019

Larry A. Maresh, 79, left us to be with our Lord on Friday, April 26, 2019. He was the son of Adolph and Ruth Maresh and the loving husband of Shannon O'Roark Maresh.

Larry was born in Deanville, Texas on December 25, 1939. He served his country in the United States Army from 1959 to 1962. He Graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1967.

Larry had a successful, professional career in the engineering and construction industry. He worked for Brown & Root; Jacobs Engineering; Black, Sivalls, & Bryson; Raymond International; Sofec; Weatherby Engineering Company and finished his career at Gulf Interstate Engineering Company as Vice President of Projects retiring in January, 2004.

Intelligent, athletic and able to talk to anyone about anything, Larry enjoyed gardening, exercising, boating, traveling, working cattle, cutting and moving hay and working on house projects. Actually he loved any good project. He had a keen wit and was always ready with a humorous comment, was a loving husband to Shannon for 34 years and a devoted dad to his children. He was a faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran Church serving as the President of the Church Council for 3 years.

Larry loved his farm and house in Deanville, the same home he was born in. The land has been in the Maresh Family for over 100 years. He was a good steward with all God had given him and a steadfast example of living faithfully. His unwavering faith enabled him to accept his illness with grace and gave him peace in his last days. Larry knew with all certainty that he would be reunited with his loved ones in Heaven.

Larry is survived by his wife Shannon; two children (from former wife Gayle): Mark Maresh (wife Connie) and Tanya Ferraris (husband Max); and grandchildren: Travis McNear and Cameron Maresh. He is also survived by his sister Sylvia Groce (husband Don); nephew DL Groce (wife Leslie) and Rhonda Schroeder (husband Keith); also great nephews and nieces: Trey Mackenzie and Taylor Groce and Kodi, Katlin and Kaden Schroeder; brother-in-law Danny O’Roark (wife Lou Ann); niece and nephew: Sarah O’Roark Goodyear (husband Ryan) and Parker O’Roark (fiancé Payton McCloskey); great nephews and niece: Avery Barlow, Cole and Julia Goodyear.
