Kenneth B. Rollins, Sr. (Beek) '52 B. S. Chemical Engineering passed away January 30, 2019 in Chandler, Texas. Beek retired from Celanese Corp. after 33 years, serving as Plant Manager in Bishop, Texas and finishing his career in Corpus Christi as a Project Engineer. Upon retirement, Beek and his wife Lyndel, who he was married to 56 years until her passing, retired to her home area of Helmic in Trinity County. For years, Beek worked as a volunteer in the Republican Party of Trinity County, often driving then gubernatorial candidate Rick Perry around campaigning. While in Bishop, the couple raised two sons, Alan and Ken, Jr. '80. Beek was ever present at the kids sporting events, served as Assistant Scout Master, served in the Lion' Club among numerous other venues. Beek was raised in Corpus and as a young lad, made fishing lures to earn spending money. He shared his love for the outdoors with his sons and later his grandchildren. Beek and Lyndel spent endless hours spoiling their 4 grandchildren. Beek was honored to spend some time with his 4 great grandchildren.
