James "Jim" Lee Sanders, II
January 17, 1942 - December 23, 2018

James (Jim) Lee Sanders II, 76, was born on January 17, 1942, in Abilene TX. Jim was heading home to his beloved Texas when he took his final breath in Frankfurt, Germany on December 23, 2018, to be with his Lord and Savior, who he has dedicated the last 40 years serving. He is preceded in death by his parents James Lee Sanders I and Virginia Lee (V-Lee) Sanders and sister, Barbara Sanders Kazen. The service will be held on Friday, January 18, 2019 at the Matthews Memorial Presbyterian Church, Albany, TX at 2 p.m. A lunch will be provided before the service at 11:30 a.m. at the same location (Matthews Memorial Presbyterian Church., Albany, TX).

Jim graduated from Texas High School in 1960. He continued his education as a Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of ’64 with a degree in Agronomy. He remained an ardent Aggie football fan throughout his life and would even fly family from around the world in to watch an Aggie game together. At the age of 33, Jim’s path diverged from being a Farmer and Railway Engineer to Evangelist after he gave his life to the Lord. In 1978, he graduated from Christ For The Nations Institute (CFNI) Dallas, in Bible and Pastoral studies and moved to Israel to help build a radio station called “The Voice of Hope” (Kol ha-tikvah) in Lebanon, and it was from the Promise Land that his ministry began.

Jim’s ministry of evangelism and preaching the good news, would continue for the next 40 years, where the Lord used him to lead many revivals and church meetings in Eastern Europe, some parts of Western Europe, Australia, Mexico, China, Cuba, India and Thailand (to name a few). Throughout his ministry, Jim continued to plant churches (up to a thousand), and lead tours to Israel as an avid supporter of the State of Israel. Jim, without hesitation, would go wherever the Lord would lead him, and with the gifts of preaching, healing, teaching and evangelism following him, his ministry continued to grow. In the 1990’s, his ministry, being based in Budapest, Hungary, remained there for the next 30 years, and it was there that he also became a televangelist, and with the help of his wife Elizabeth, translated over 40 bible-based and faith-filled teachings, as well as completing many writing of his own.

Jim is survived by his two sisters: Judy Compton of Albany, Texas, and Bitsy Dotin of Detroit, Texas. He is survived by his five children: Hollyn Sanders Maddox of Texarkana; Lee Sanders of Fort Worth; Rachel Sanders McEwan of Toowoomba, Australia; Nathan Alexander Sanders of Brisbane, Australia, and Sarah Tamara Sanders of Grapevine TX, formally from Brisbane, Australia. Grandchildren: Rebecca Maddox Vaughan; Clayton Maddox; Eliana, Axel, and Ariella McEwan; and, Emilia and Caroline Sanders. Great-granddaughters: Marsey and Holly Vaughan. As well, he leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
