Janene Fowler

Janene Elizabeth Pulley Fowler, age 54, went peacefully to join her heavenly Father on December 15, 2018 from her home in The Woodlands, Texas.

She was born on January 20, 1964 in Stillwater, Oklahoma to Gene and Jane (Hawkins) Pulley. She married Bruce Fowler on June 17, 1989. They began their marriage and service to the Lord as teachers, with Janene teaching junior high science for 31 years. Janene was science department chair for McCullough Junior High, where she was deeply loved. She was especially passionate about science fair and was the coordinator for Conroe ISD.

Janene enjoyed nature in all aspects - in the air, on land, and underwater. She was a scuba diver and an avid supporter of our Texas gulf coast and reef restoration. She actively participated in many summer camp adventures from Girl Scouting to W.O.W. Science Camp. Janene loved exploring God's creation. She and her family visited many state and national parks, traveled to Scotland, Italy, the Caribbean, the Galapagos Islands... She also enjoyed sky diving and was able to participate in many advanced aerial formations with Aggies Over Texas. Janene kept numerous scrapbooks, a favored hobby, and loved to enthusiastically document and share her adventures.

Janene and her family were active members of Christ Church UMC and loved their Sunday School class and fellowship groups. It was from her faith that her unfailing optimism and amiability grew, and it was often said that she never met a stranger.

Bruce and Janene raised two daughters, Kasey Jane, age 24, and Lori Elizabeth, age 21. All four Fowlers are proud Texas Aggies, following generations of graduates on both sides of their families. Gig' em!

Janene Fowler is preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Jane Pulley. She is survived by her loving husband, Bruce, daughters Kasey and Lori, brother, Paul Pulley and his wife, Tina, sister, Emily Pulley, in-laws, Bruce and Jane Fowler, sisters-in-law, Dayna Haines and husband, John, Markita Johnson and husband, Ken, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Reef Environmental Education Foundation or the . A memorial celebration of Janene's life is planned for January 12, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Church UMC with a reception to follow.
