Robert “Bob” Kilpatrick

Bob Kilpatrick, 79, of Bryan, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at his home in Bryan. Interment service will be at 10:15 am, Tuesday, December 18, 2018, in the College Station Memorial Cemetery Aggie Field of Honor followed by a Celebration of Life Tribute Service at 11:30am at Christ United Methodist Church in College Station. Services are in trusted to the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers, Bryan-College Station.

Bob was born on December 21, 1938 in Galveston, Texas to Robert Emmett and Celina Margaret LeSassier Kilpatrick. In his early years, he moved extensively with his parents throughout southern Texas eventually graduating from Van Vleck High School in 1957 and then on to Texas A&M in 1961 with a degree in Business. After A&M, he entered the Army as a 2nd lieutenant, stationed at a Nike missile base in Spokane, Washington. He was honorably discharged as a captain in 1963.

In October 1961, he married his high school sweetheart, Shirley and just recently celebrated their 57th anniversary. Bob formed his manufacturing representative company, Kilpatrick Sales in Dallas, in 1967, where he proudly represented Baldor Electric Company until his retirement in 2003. In his role with Baldor, Bob was the Dallas/ North Texas District Manager where he developed many friends and business acquaintances. His unique humor and love of friends of family brought Bob great joy and business success followed.

In 2005, Bob and Shirley moved to Bryan, to be closer to his beloved Texas A&M. The two of them could be found at A&M Football, Volleyball and Basketball games where they met many of their fellow Aggie friends. He was very involved in his Aggie Class of 1961 and in the life of his children and grandchildren supporting them in all activities. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in College Station as well as a supporter of Texas A&M, including the 12th Man Foundation. Bob and Shirley established endowed scholarships to the Association of Former Students and Corp of Cadets Association. They also established an Aggie Veteran Patriot scholarship in memory of their daughter Dana Kristin along with the purchase of emergency medical and support equipment for the Aggie Student EMS program. They are founding members of The Compassionate Friends Chapter in College Station.

Daughter Dana Kristin Kilpatrick; his sister Myra Kay Kilpatrick; his parents, Robert and Celina Kilpatrick, all precede Bob in death.

Bob is survived by his wife, Shirley Tallas Kilpatrick; his son Alan and wife Cindy Kilpatrick; grandchildren Ashtyn and Sarah, all of Mansfield, Texas.

Bob’s family kindly asked that memorial offerings, in lieu of flowers, be given to S.O.S. Ministry, 1700 Grosebeck Street, Bryan, Texas 77803 or Hospice Brazos Valley, 502 West 26th Street, Bryan, Texas 77803, in Memory of Bob Kilpatrick.
