Robert Vipon Thomas III
August 22, 1948 - November 18, 2018

Robert Vipon Thomas III left this world and crossed into heavens gates on the afternoon of November 18, 2018, at his home in Richmond, Texas at the age of 70.

Robert was born in Houston Texas on August 22nd, 1948 to the late Robert “ Bob” Thomas Jr, and Eleanor Brown, and lived out his childhood and adolescence in Liberty, Texas, graduating high school in 1966. He played football for and graduated from Texas A&M in the class of 1970. He served as a Captain in the United States Army and spent much of his career, after armed service, in the oil industry, residing the most of his later years in Richmond, Texas, surrounded by friends and family.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, his son Spencer Hoyt Thomas, and his daughter Hayley Rhea Thomas. He is survived by his mother, Eleanor Brown; wife, Anita Thomas; Son, David Pena and wife Iris; Daughter, Erin Thomas and partner Joey Wade; Grandchildren, Liliana, Jazmin and David “Dude” Pena, McKenzie and Aaron Brown, and Katie Butler; Siblings Debbie McDaniel and husband Mitchell and Don Thomas and wife Laura, along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations can be made to spouse Anita Thomas. Contributions may be mailed to Caballero-Ryder funeral home for the attention of Anita Thomas.
