EDWIN LAWRENCE “PUNKIN” MINTZ

1962 – 2018

Edwin Lawrence “Punkin” Mintz, 78, loving husband and father, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 in Navasota, TX.

He was born March 2, 1940 in Houston, to late Sam and Eula “Boots” (Reynolds) Mintz.

Edwin graduated Texas A&M, Class of 1962. He was a member of the Corps of Cadets and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Agriculture Economics. Following graduation, Edwin joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 716. He worked over thirty years as an Electrician and retired in 2000.

Punkin enjoyed fishing and was an avid supporter of anything Texas A&M. He was known for his quick wit, infectious smile, and jovial spirit.

Edwin is survived by his wife of 53 years, Hazel Ann Mintz; sons, Michael Todd Mintz and his wife Felicia Ann, and Christopher Lawrence Mintz and his wife Cheryl Ann; grandchildren, Michael Aaron, Matthew Allen, Matthew John, Tyler Austin, Emilia Gabrielle, Kaylee Ann, and Sara Ann; and brother James Dale Mintz.

Edwin is preceded in death by his father, Sam Mintz and mother, Eula “Boots” Renyolds; brothers, Regan Mintz, Donald Mintz, and Henry Mintz.

A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, December 8, at The First Presbyterian Church, 302 Nolan St, Navasota. Social gathering afterward in the Church Family Center. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to: https://gofundme.com/edpunkinmintzmemorial
