JULY 16, 1935 ~ NOVEMBER 4, 2018 (AGE 83)
Fred M. Rodriguez passed away November 4, 2018 at the age of 83.
Fred was born July 16, 1935 in Bryan to Paul L. and Consuelo Moncivais Rodriguez. After graduating from Texas A&M in 1958, he became a teacher, ESL and bilingual classes. He taught in Houston and then for Bryan ISD. Fred helped thousands of students through the years. He also supported other Hispanics through his proud membership in LULAC. A devout Catholic, Fred was a Knight of Columbus. In his free time, Fred loved working Texas A&M sporting events and playing dominoes. In fact, he was a four-time domino gold medal Olympic champion among senior citizens.
Fred leaves behind his daughter Mary Louise Rodriguez, his son and daughter-in-law Fred L. and Michelle Rodriguez, his grandchildren Victoria Chavez and her husband James, Alicia Shaw and her husband Jeff, Joshua Rodriguez, Noah Rodriguez, Austin Rodriguez, Ethan Rodriguez, Matthew Rodriguez, and Sean Michael Bailey, his four great-grandchildren, his brother and sister-in-law Paul L. and Del Rodriguez, his brother Greg Rodriguez, and his brother Manuel Rodriguez. He is reunited with his beloved wife Victoria Rodriguez, his daughter Yolanda de los Santos, and his brother and sister-in-law Richard and Beatrice Rodriguez.
To honor Fred’s life, his family has planned a visitation on Monday, November 12 from 5-8, with a Rosary to be said at 6:30 at Hillier Funeral Home of Bryan. His Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 2 PM at Santa Teresa Catholic Church.
