Frederick Weimann Becker
October 25, 1931 - June 06, 2012

Frederick Weimann Becker, age 80, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away on June 6, 2012. Fred was born on October 25, 1931 in Brenham, Texas to Fred and Leona Becker. He spent two years in the U.S. Army before earning Bachelor of Science degrees from Texas A&M in 1958 and from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1968. Fred enjoyed a long career as a mechanical and safety engineer. He married the love of his life, Barbara Durbin Becker, in Kermit, Texas in 1960. They loved travelling; among their favorite places were Spain, Paris, London, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and the Rocky Mountains. During Fred’s last days, he and Barbara enjoyed a wonderful time in Riudoso, New Mexico. Fred was an active Democrat and avid tennis player with a passion for cars, especially his red 1968 Mustang. Fred is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara Becker; son, Mike Becker; three grandchildren, Sam, Max, and Tallulah Becker, and their mother, Cindy Becker; brother Ralph Becker and his wife Sandra; and many other loving family members and friends. Fred’s family is very grateful for the compassionate care given to him at Scott and White Hospital in Round Rock.
