Donald Lock Grant, age 96, died May 20, 2012 in a Hamilton nursing home. Private family services were held May 26 at Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton where he was buried.
Mr. Grant was born Jan. 31, 1916 in Savanna, Ill., the son of Ella Locke Grant and Earl Robert Grant**.
He received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Texas A & M in 1938. He joined the United States Navy on Nov 2, 1942 and was honorably discharged as Lieutenant on Feb 7 1946.
He was married to Enid King on Dec 23, 1948. They lived in Austin where he was employed as a Field Representative for REA, then in Washington DC for thirteen years. After retirement, he and his wife move to Hamilton where they joined the First United Methodist Church on Jan 20, 1073. He received special recognition for his more than 30 years of service with the United States Government.
Mr. Grant was preceded in death by his wife Enid on March 2 2009 and by one brother.
Survivors include a son, Joe Holeyfield and wife Linda of Meeker, Colo.' Two grandsons, Michael Holeyfield and wife Teresa of Justin and Mithchell Holeyfield of Grosbeck; sister-in-law Merle Lawson of Milton and sister-in-law Marie Goyne of Tyler; many great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
