John "Johnny" Albin Greaner Jr.
OCTOBER 20, 1936 – OCTOBER 19, 2018

John “Johnny” Albin Greaner Jr. passed away peacefully surrounded by love in the early morning hours of the 19th of October, just one day shy of his 82nd birthday.
Johnny was born October, 20, 1936, in Houston, Texas, and was raised in West University Place, where he enjoyed riding his bike around the neighborhood and watching in amazement as the Rice University stadium was built. Johnny graduated from Lamar High School. After high school he attended Texas A&M University and then transferred to the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Physics and minors in Mechanical Engineering and Math. He also enjoyed being a student-leader, actively involved in the famous Frontier Fiesta. Post graduation he worked as a draftsman for 11 years for Texaco Research. In 1977, his entrepreneurial spirit led him to start his own business and he successfully launched Hydro Machinery, which was a successful business until his retirement in 2001. In retirement Johnny enjoyed his favorite past times, fishing and pheasant hunting, and both Eva and Johnny enjoyed their many fur-babies over the years as they both shared a love for dogs.

Johnny was predeceased by his father, John Albin Greaner Sr., and mother, Laura Dupuy Greaner; as well as his two sisters, Charolette Greaner Moody and Betty Greaner Rogers.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Eva Hudson Greaner; his son, John Albin Greaner III, and daughter-in-law Jennifer Greaner; his daughter, Gwyn Greaner Sebastian, and son-in-law John Sebastian; his five grandchildren, Nathan, Rainey, Collyn, Cameryn and Kolby; and his two great grandchildren, Brennan and Gwen.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. followed by a celebration of Johnny's life at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home, 18000 I-45 South, in The Woodlands. Immediately following the service, interment will take place in Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery

Should friends desire, flowers may be sent to the funeral home in advance of the service; or in lieu of flowers, a donation to the Montgomery County Animal Shelter would be greatly appreciated by Johnny.

The family would like to say a special thanks to the many “Angels on Earth” that have generously showed their support and love to Johnny and Eva, including Carolyn Sebastian, Patty Black, friends at Conroe Golf Cars, Jolene Flynn, Francis Meers & the supporting neighbors in Forrest Estates subdivision, the loving staff of Village Care Homes and the compassionate staff of Season’s Hospice.
